Any queries, please ask
Many Thanks

Sound of the Week

Sound of the week is 'ch'

Please send in any object, pictures etc. that has the sound 'ch' in them. We will put them in our sound box and use them to help with our spellings during the week.

Parents Evening

There will be a parent evening on Monday 28th September at 3.30pm.

I will be giving information about our school day and showing you around our classroom.

Please come along. I look forward to seeing you there.

Mrs Fraser

Fun with Maths

We have been learning the number words and are trying to match the correct number to the word. We are getting better at it with more practice.

Who has the correct word?

Our Rules

We have Golden Rules to follow in school and we have also made a promise by placing our hands in paint and adding them to our class rules. If we follow the rules we can have Golden Time on a Friday where we can choose an activity to play with in class. However, if we do not follow our rules then some Golden Time will be lost.

Fun in Class

In our current topic 'All About Me' we have been finding out who is the tallest in the class. Here we are measuring each other using cleversticks. Ask us who was the tallest in the class?
We also found out the most popular eye colour in the class and the school. We made a pictogram to find out the most popular eye colour in class and we used a tally chart to find out the most popular eye colour in school. Ask us all about it?

Welcome to Class 3

Welcome to Class 3!

Unfortunately I have not been able to update the main photo on the front page as yet but we will be doing so as soon as possible.

All the children have settled in really well and I am very proud of them.

Look out for the photos of some of the things we have been up to!

Half Term Home Task

As part of our topic, this term, we have been looking at types of homes around Gelli e.g. terraced, semi-detached, flats etc. After half term we will be looking at different types of homes from around the world e.g. igloo’s, huts, wig-wams, log cabins, boathouses, caves etc. Could you please help your son/daughter to find some information/pictures of a home so that we can discuss when we come back to school.

As part of Design Technology we will then attempt to build some of these homes in class. We would be grateful if you could provide some SMALL old cardboard boxes etc. for us to cut up and use to build our models.

Many Thanks

Spelling Homework

On Friday the children were given spelling books to take home. Please could you help your child to read, spell and write the words. They will also need help to sound out each letter where possible. You only need to spend 5 or 10 minutes at a time and it would be great if you could make it as fun as possible. Learning 1, 2 or 3 words at a time may be better than trying to learn them all at once and please let me know if you have any concerns.

Please return spelling books each Friday so that new words can be given.

Many Thanks
Mrs Fraser

Maths Activities

We painted our feet and measured them using cubes, string and rulers. We found out who had the biggest and smallest feet in our class. Ask us to see if we can remember!

Our Building Site

In our role play area we had a building site. Here we are with some of our creations. Some builders of the future, maybe!

Science Activities

Last term we were learning about different parts of our bodies. We drew around each other and labelled our drawings. We can tell you some of our body parts in welsh too!

In the Classroom at St Fagans

We sat in the classroom to have our lesson. It was not as much fun as it is today!

School Trip to St Fagans

We have lots of things to show you from last term!

Here we are at St Fagans, all dressed up, learning about what schools were like in the past.
