St David's Day Concert

Just a reminder to please wear welsh costumes on Monday. Hope you enjoy the concert.

Visit to the Library

We enjoyed our visit so much we didn't want to leave. We would all like to visit more often.

Visit to the Library

We visited the library. We found out how to join for free.

Our Invention Models

We have been making our inventions using recycled waste. Thanks to you all for bringing them in. Ask us what invention we made? There was a hair trimmer, a gobbledegoop, a twirly wirly and even a nose wiper. They were fabulous and the children really enjoyed planning and designing their models.

Having fun with paint

We have been having fun with Miss Hatch using different object dipped in paint to make marks. This will help us with making some clay tiles later in the term.

Letter formation with a difference

We are making letters from the things we find in the garden. This helps us to remember what the letters look like.

Jack and the Beanstalk

Here we are at the Parc & Dare Theatre enjoying eating our sweets before the show starts!
We really enjoyed watching Jack and the Beanstalk even though some of us were a little scared of the giant!

Chinese New Year Fri 12th Feb

We will be holding a celebration day for the Chinese New Year on Friday 12th Feb. The children can dress up if they wish as we will be carrying out related activities throughout the day.

We will also be collecting any donations for the recent devastating Haiti Earthquake.

Library Books

Your son/daughter has chosen a book from our school library to share at home. Could you please ensure that books are looked after and returned every Friday. New books will be issued every Monday.

Thanks
Mrs Fraser

Parents Evening Amendment

Sorry but due to a forgotten hospital appointment I have had to amend my parent evening dates to Monday 8th Feb & Tuesday 9th Feb. I will see the parents who have already booked appointments on Wednesday up until 4.30pm. I have spoken to all parents concerned with change and thank you for being so helpful.

I will put a timetable outside my classroom door for you to look at on Monday if anyone needs a reminder of the times.

Look forward to seeing you then.

Our theme this term is 'Our Powerful World' and this week we have read the book 'Professor Puffendorf's Secret Potions'.

We decided to think of our own potions and went on a walk around the school to find some ingredients.
We made potions that could make you fly, turn you into famous footballers and dance like ballerinas!

We are matching lower case letters to capital letters.

We can play musical instruments in our music area. Cameron is the conductor today and Emily is following his instructions.

We have our own doctors surgery.
We can ask how are you in welsh. Beth sy'n bod?

We went on a walk around our school to find out what features are around our school.

We saw a river, mountains, houses and a bridge.

When we got back to class we drew a map of where we went.

We have been learning about 3D shapes.

Ask us to tell you how to describe the shape?

We went on a trip to find Santa at Rhondda Heritage Park.

We went underground to try and find him.

Logan found a note on our way and we ended up in Santa's bedroom!

He was hiding in his wardrobe!

All our names were on the 'good child list' so Santa gave us a present!

We made our Christmas tree decorations and then decorated our class tree.
